Congress conducts meeting on anticipated 3rd wave challenge in J&K

JAMMU, Jan 7: IYC Secretary in-charge, Jammu & Kashmir Youth Congress, Jagdev Gaga, while alleging administration's mismanagement in handling Covid crisis, have sought immediate review of measures to control the ongoing Corona pandemic.
He stated this during an emergent meeting of the party stalwarts after a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases in J&K the other day and overall alarming situation emerging as a result of the Omicron variant of the virus. The meeting was conducted through virtual mode to discuss the challenges posed by the probability of the third wave of the pandemic striking soon.
According to the press note issued by the party, the significant meeting was conducted on the directions of Rahul Gandhi, Krishna Allavaru, Incharge Indian Youth Congress; Srinivas BV, National President IYC; Rajani Patil, Indian National Congress J&K affairs; Ghulam Ahmad Mir, President JKPCC; Raman Bhalla, Working President JKPCC and Mula Ram, Vice President JKPCC and those who participated included Jagdev Gaga, IYC Secretary in-charge, Jammu & Kashmir Youth Congress and Uday Bhanu Chib, President J&KPYC.
While accusing the Union Government of mismanagement in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, Gaga said that majority of the deaths in the second wave were due to improper arrangements made by the Government and its agencies.
Alleging that the UT Administration has miserably failed to handle the situation in J&K, Uday said JKPCC will leave no stone unturned in compelling the authorities in governance to address the problems and issues of the people on this count. He said that the party cadre in J&K right from the ground level to top is working relentlessly in making the people aware about the dire need to get their vaccination done at the earliest besides following all the SOPs and CAB sacredly to safeguard their precious lives as well as the society at large.
Uday Chib appealed to the Central as well as the UT Governments to take political and administrative steps to review measures to contain the pandemic and improve coordination between the governments besides collaborating with the civil society.
