Early Times Report

Srinagar, Jan 12: In a shocking development, a senior KPDCL official on Wednesday sought donations from his subordinate employees for injured Casual Labour who is availing treatment at SKIMS.
The Superintending Engineer, KPDCL, O&M Circle Bijbehara wrote a letter to Executive Engineer KPDCL STD Bijbehara, ED Anantnag, ED Bijbehara and ED Kulgam and requested them to riase funds voluntarily for injured Casual Labour.
“All of you might be aware about the doleful episode wherein one PDL worker namely Mr. Shabir Ahmad Dar got critically injured and is reportedly under treatment at SKIMS Srinagar,” the Letter reads.
The officer in this communiqué said that the PDL worker is battling for life in the medical institute and might be carving financial assistance.
“Since the labourer belongs to the low paid section of the corporation, besides there is almost no apparent provision for meeting medical expenses to be involved for his treatment, as such, heartfelt appeal is being made to come forward for mass financial support to the victim on a voluntary basis,” reads the letter.
Superintending Engineer, KPDCL, O&M Circle Bijbehara asked officers to raise maximum funds for the injured casual labor as there was no provision for meeting medical expenses.
The officials and employees have been directed to transfer funds directly in the injured casual laborer’s personal account.
A copy of this letter has been forwarded to Managing Director KPDCL, Srinagar Kashmir, Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, Revenue Officer ED Bijbehara and other officials.
