| BJP leaders meet DC Rajouri, threaten stir if power scenario doesn’t improve | | Give 5-day ultimatum to administration, PDD | |

Rajouri, Jan 12: A delegation of residents led by BJP leaders on Tuesday met the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to apprise him about the worsening power situation in the district.
BJP leaders after meeting the Deputy Commissioner told reporters that the DC has assured them that within 5-days power scenario will improve. “We have told the administration clearly that if the power scenario doesn’t improve we will hit the streets,” they said, adding that “After this meeting we will not present any memorandums.”
it’s in place to mention here that power blackouts and electricity crisis have hit several parts of Rajouri district after recent snowfall and bad weather conditions and local population is suffering.
As per locals hailing from different parts of Rajouri district especially from upper reaches where heavy snowfall has occurred there is power crisis going on in the areas with several transformers lying defunct.
The areas which are most affected with the situation are from Kotranka sub division and Thanamandi tehsil.
Local said that due to heavy snowfall several power poles too have suffered damages and the restoration work being carried out by the Power Development Department is going at a very slow pace.
They said that due to power blackouts in some areas and unscheduled power cuts life has come to a standstill. |
