Congress of NET/SET/PhD in-service teachers holds meeting
1/13/2022 10:50:16 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 13: A virtual meeting under the banner of Congress of NET/SET/ Ph.D in-service teachers of Department of School Education took place, which was attended by highly qualified in-service teachers from various districts of J&K.
As the highly qualified teachers are eligible and capable of teaching at Higher education and University level but due to one or the other reasons they are proudly giving their services at Primary and Secondary level of school education across different schools of J&K. However the teachers who are having lot of research experience and knowledge regarding their respective subjects showed their dismay when the SCERT recently advertised various posts of Assistant Professors and Academic Officers to be filled from School Education cadre and these teachers found themselves ineligible for the said posts.
The teachers highlighted that SCERT should follow NCERT and UGC guidelines for filling up the vacancies where Ph.D. and NET are considered essential qualifications rather than the "pay level scale" eligibility criteria set by SCERT.
In the meeting, the teachers also suggested that the knowledge and research experience of such teachers can be utilized in a better way at +2 and +3 level so in that case the teachers in the meeting put few demands in front of the authorities
40% reservation given to in-service teachers for the appointment at plus 2 level and reservations in Higher Education should be restored immediately.
Out of turn promotion for PhD/NET/SLET qualified in service teachers should be given in order to raise the teaching learning process.
The meeting was presided over by Dr Ayaz, Dr Riaz, Dr Imran, Dr Alson Rasool, Owais Wani, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dr Mehreen, Dr Antima, Wahid Wani, Bindu Kumari and Dr Prakash Chander.
