97th birth anniversary of Thakur Baldev Singh Chib celebrated

JAMMU, Jan 13: 97th birth anniversary of Thakur Baldev Singh Chib along with Lohri was celebrated in his native village Satriyan (Suchetgarh) in which a large number of people from civil society participated.
Thakur Baldev Singh Chib, former President of Amar Khashtriya Rajput Sabha was an eminent educationalist, and author-off many books in Hindi and Urdu.He authored many books viz, Atharah-Din(Eighteen Days),Trishul, Amar-Kahani, Jai Jai Rajasthan, Deva Watala and Meri Pasand.
He was also a great social reformer and contributed a lot in eradicating social evils, among the Rural Population of his area in general and in the Khashitriya Samaj in Particular.
Those who laid their tributes included T S Bajwa, ex-MP, R.S Chib, former Minister, large number of Sarpanchs, Panchs, Sahil Sharma, Prof. Jai Singh, Headmaster Sohan Singh, Cpt. Balwan Singh, Satpal Singh Chib, Arjun Singh, Ch. Sharvan, Bhagat Sant Ram, Ch. Mohinder Singh, Adv. Sangra, Joginder Singh and all ex- Principals and Head Masters.
R.S Chib while paying his tributes spoke in detail about the life of Thakur Baldev Singh and described him an epitome of simplicity who laid his life like a saint.
Chib further said that while functioning as Head of his Panchayat he did lot for the development of his area. He was also running a small organization in his area to help the poor students and widows. At the end of the function, the Lohri fire was lit in which all including a large number of children participated. The people greeted each other and wished each other a Happy New year! The function was organized at low key, because of the situation created by Covid-19.
