Ware House Nehru Market Traders to observe voluntary Weekend Lockdown

JAMMU, Jan 19: Taking one more step for the welfare of Traders and the Society as a whole, Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu on Wednesday has decided to observe voluntary Weekend Lockdown from 22-01-22 for 3 weeks.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday Deepak Gupta said that last week in a meeting, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Raghav Langer appealed to Market Associations to voluntarily stagger schedules to reduce crowds. State Administration also imposed Weekend restrictions in Jammu and kashmir from last Saturday. Although Ware house allowed to open the whole week because this market deals with essential supply but being a responsible Federation we have decided to observe self weekend lockdown from coming Saturday for three weeks.
Gupta said that the decision in this regard was taken in an emergency meeting held yesterday in the federation office. The meeting was attended by Munish Mahajan, Sr. Vc. President, Abhimanyu Gupta, Jr. Vc. President, Sham Lal Langer, General Secretary, Vishal Gupta, Secretary, Amit Gupta, Cashier, Rajesh Bhagotra,President sugar association, Rattan Lal Mahajan & Rajesh gupta, former president of federation, Kirti Gupta, president dal merchant association, Ajay Gupta, president potato-onion association, Sham Lal Gupta former Sr. Vc. President of federation, Anil Gupta, former Gen.Sec. of federation Om Parkash, President Karyana Association, Yashpal Gupta, President Retailers Federation Jammu, Bishan Dass Gupta, president Rice Association and other senior members of the federation.
"It was unanimously decided that to help the administration in controlling this pandemic, all shops in Ware House-Nehru Market and adjoining markets will observe weekend lockdown from coming Saturday for the next three weeks. All shops will remain closed on every Saturday-Sunday during this period." Gupta informed.
Gupta said that it was also decided in the meeting that no customer will be allowed in the warehouse-nehru market without a face mask and every shopkeeper and their employees will strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration on covid-19.
Gupta said that during the second wave, when the whole of Jammu was locked up inside the homes and life came to a halt, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market(Regd.) had come forward to help the needy people of Jammu. The Federation established "Oxygen War Room", "Ration War Room" and "Medicine War Room" in the federation office and these Ware rooms are still operational and anyone in need can contact the federation for which several helpline numbers have been released.
Others present in the press conference were Munish Mahajan, Sr. Vc. President, Abhimanyu Gupta, Jr. Vc. President, Sham Lal Langer, General Secretary, Vishal Gupta, Secretary and Amit Gupta, Cashier of the federation.
