BJP leader Dina Nath joins Congress, terms BJP as anti SC/ST/OBC
1/25/2022 10:37:05 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 25: Describing BJP as anti SC/ST/OBC and other weaker sections, former BJP MLA Dina Nath has said that “Sab ka saath, Sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas” is a hollow slogan and Congress is the only viable alternative to the anti people policies of BJP.
Nath along with several prominent people joined Congress. JKPCC Chief G A Mir along with working president Raman Bhalla, Vice President Mula Ram, General Secretaries PCC Yogesh Sawhney and Manmohan Singh, Balbir Singh (EX-MLA) were present on the occasion. Others who joined include Sham Lal, Mohammad Javed Malik, Sameer Malik, Rafia Malik, Sahil Malik Tayub Malik and others. They expressed full faith on the policies and programmes of Congress party and its leadership Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Mir said that Congress is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. He said Congress believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of the UT. He said Congress is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, it is the Congress alone which has always taken care of the urges and aspirations of the people.
Mir described BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti development, saying due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction the sufferings of the people increased manifold. The insensitive government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot, he said.
Bhalla said that the people of Jammu region feel utterly cheated and betrayed for the failure of BJP leaders to represent and agitate their concerns. He said that people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of the state must become part of Congress’s growth story. The doors are open for the people who want to contribute in the party’s efforts to see the state out of the present mess, he said.
Nath said that the reasons for his quitting the ruling party was its double standards especially on the issues of Dalit Samaj and weaker sections, as there is lot of difference in the narrative and implementation of big and hollow slogans of BJP and Modi government. He said Congress is the only alternative and a strong platform for each and every sections of the society being a truly secular and progressive grand old party.
