| Social Welfare Deptt organizes programme on drugs | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 8: In order to create awareness in the society and students regarding Drugs Abuse, Directorate of Social Welfare, Kathua in collaboration with Top FM 91.1 and NSS units GDC Kathua and National Cadet Corps organized a programme on Drugs Free Nation.
Rahul Yadav, District Development Commissioner Kathua was the chief guest on this occasion. Prof Raj Kiran Sharma Incharge Principal GDC Kathua was the guest of honour on this occasion. President Bar Council Kathua Ajat Shatru Sharma was the chief resource person on this occasion. He shared legal aspects of the drugs abuse. Sukhdev Singh, social activist was also present on the occasion. He also shared his views regarding drugs abuse. Dr Sandeep Raina from Health Department was also present on the occasion and shared his views. He elaborated on the drugs impact on the health of the young blood. He said drug addiction is not a disease instead its brain disorder. This Brian disease further becomes Social disease. Prof Jasvinder Singh Associate Professor Physics, Prof Rakesh Jasrotia AssociateProfessor Chemistry, Prof Manmohan Singh NSS Programme Officer and Dr. Jogbinder Singh, Director Physical Education and Sports, was also present on this occasion. The event was organized under the patronage and supervision of District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim. The programme concluded with 'Say Yes to Life' and 'No to Drugs' pledge. |
