CCI hails Govt for lifting weekend lockdown

JAMMU, Feb 8: The meeting of different market /trade and Industrial Associations was held today at Chamber House under the Presidentship of Arun Gupta. The main point discussed in the meeting was the situation has arisen due to the spread of the Corona Virus, which compelled the government to impose some restrictions include weekend lockdown initially on Saturday and Sunday and later the same has imposed from 2 PM on Friday up to 6 AM on Monday. Sh. Arun Gupta President CCI talked to the local administration and convinced them that the lockdown is no solution and it will only affect the business community who have already suffered huge losses due to previous lockdowns.
Initially, with the intervention of Chamber shops were got opened on Friday's till 9 PM instead of 2 PM However with the continuous effort of the chamber team requesting the administration to lift the lockdown for Saturdays amid in the declining of several covid cases and finally convinced the administration to open the shops on Saturday's followed by the recent announcement to lift the weekend lockdown.
President CCI express gratitude to the administration as well as the business community for their whole-hearted cooperation and support due to which it all happened and Chamber succeeded in curbing the situation from going bad to worse.
