CPI rejects draft report of delimitation commission, termed exercise to divide people on communal lines
2/8/2022 10:48:55 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Communist Party of India (CPI) Jammu and Kashmir State Council today rejected the draft report of delimitation commission and termed the whole exercise as an attempted to divide people on communal lines.
As per statement, the state council in a meeting held here at its headquarters, Dhanwantari Bhawan, Jammu rejected the draft report, saying that it's recommendations are totally irrelevant and un-futile. It is largely to befool the people of Jammu region and create communal divide instead of increasing 7 seats, if the government provided 700 jobs to unemployed qualified youth, it would have benefitted 700 families and not 7 political workers only.
Changing the areas and creating new constituencies has created more problems for the common people than solving them.
For instance Poonch and Rajouri has been made part of Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency of Kashmir region. Due to the bad road connectivity and hilly terrain it remains cut off from the valley for most of the time and access of people with their representatives will remain a distant dream.
In Jammu Region, Suchetgarh Assembly constituency has been totally abolished and merged with R S Pura Assembly constituency, which is unfair the discrimination with the people of border belt. There is need of that assembly constituency for the proper welfare of border belt villages.
The People of Ranbir Singh Pura (R S Pura) also feels betrayed after their reserved constituency for SC has not been made opened. From last four terms, the constituency is reserved and the majority of the people believed and have trusted the BJP for opening the constituency but all went in vain. And also the some area of R S Pura has been merged with Gandhi Nagar assembly constituency is not acceptable.
The whole draft report is unacceptable to the people of J&K and almost all political parties of J&K have rejected it's unfair recommendations and demanded it's rejection.
This delimitation draft report by BJP Government is only for dividing people on communal bases and to fulfilling its political agenda.
CPI J&K demanded the immediate rejection of the Draft report and the matter of increasing or decreasing or redrawing the areas of the constituencies should be done after Democratic Government is elected in the state.
