DC Draft Report big injustice with Pir Panjal people: Javed Rana
2/8/2022 10:49:26 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Terming Delimitation Commission (DC) Draft Report a big injustice with the people of twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, senior National Conference leader and President JKNC Pir Panjal Zone Javed Ahmed Rana said that BJP government has destroyed the democratic set up of Jammu and Kashmir by bringing Delimitation Draft Report.
Speaking exclusively with 'The Early Times' Javed Rana, who also remained three times Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mendhar Assembly segment, said that people of entire Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory are feeling unhappy with this Draft Report, which is not based on facts, figures, population, and topography besides even not based on Administrative Units. He said people from different corners of J&K are raising their voice against this Delimitation Draft Report.
Rana said that BJP slogans of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' seems nowhere on ground as BJP has snatched some of the Reserved Categories seats, the tall hollow claims of giving political reservation has been thrown to winds and even areas where there was political reservation for Scheduled Tribes (ST) has cut off, shifted and merged with some other constituencies which is against in the interests of people and not acceptable," said Rana.
Rana said we have always demanded a separate Parliamentary Constituency for Pir Panjal but not demanded to merge us with Anantnag. BJP has changed political set up and destroyed democratic institutions of Jammu and Kashmir in this Draft Report, which will not be allowed to happen.
Rana said that even some of the areas of his Assembly segment Mendhar has been shifted and merged with Surankote Assembly segment, which according to him is against in the interests of people of the areas.
"We will approach to the Election Commission regarding the changes brought in the territorial constituencies and their areas and thereafter we will come on the roads," Rana said.
