Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 6: Residents of Rajeev Nagar and Raheem Nagar don’t even remember the name of the BJP MLA, who won the 2014 assembly elections as no politician has visited them during the past so many years. Residents of Rajeev Nagar while talking to local news channel said, “Helmsmen and politicians don’t consider us as human beings. The roads haven’t been repaired for the past many years, the drains are choked and there is no proper system for garbage disposal.”
They said, “The government is busy erecting boards about Jammu Smart City. They need to peep inside the lanes and bylanes to know about the exact condition of the so-called Jammu City.”
Residents said, “No one is bothered about our pathetic plight. The road is broken and dilapidated.”
Inhabitants of adjoin Raheem Nagar also narrated the similar story. “The water of nallah seeps into our homes. We have become used to staying with broken roads and blockage of drains. Neither corporator, nor the elected MLAs have even looked towards our area,” they added.
“Is this the Smart City where people cannot even walk on roads. No one comes to us to enquire about our plight,” residents said.
