| GRS in Poonch allegedly benefits her husband | | Payments of development works allotted to others transferred into husband’s account | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Mar 24: An influential Gram Rozgar Sevak of Poonch district has been caught on the wrong foot as the payments of development works allotted on the names of other people were transferred into the account of her husband.
As per documents available with Early Times clearly shows that GRS allegedly took wrong course to provide benefit to her husband on the name of works carried out in Mankote area of tehsil Mendhar and payments were made in the bank account of her husband.
Besides, huge disparity was observed in providing benefits to people under the PMAY scheme. It has been observed that retired government employees were given benefit of PMAY scheme in connivance with official and concerned panchayat representatives. Around 50-60% APL people were given the PMAY scheme which is totally against the guidelines. When concerned Sarpanch was contacted in this regard, he said that there might be some names that have been included in the list by mistake and matter has been taken up with the department.
The locals have demanded high level inquiry into the matter and demanded that strict action should be taken against the erring officials who have been defrauding the department.
When BDO Mankote was contacted for his version in this matter, he said that the alleged GRS is already suspended in this case. He further assured that the matter has been again brought into his notice, he would inquire about the other allegations against the GRS. |
