President appoints Rahul Bharti, Moksha Khajuria Kazmi as additional judges of HC

JAMMU, Mar 24: Ministry of Law & Justice Department of Justice has announced the appointment of Rahul Bharti and Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, as additional judges of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for a period of two years.
The Ministry of Law & Justice Department of Justice through a notification announced the appointment of Rahul Bharti and Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, as additional judges of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Rahul Bharti, and (ii) Ms. Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, to be Additional Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices”, reads the notification.
It is worthwhile to mention here that in March 2019, the State High Court collegiums had recommended Bharti and Moksha for the appointment as judges of Jammu & Kashmir. The J&K High Court has sanctioned strength of 17 judges including 13 permanent judges and four additional judges. However, at present there are 13 judges including Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal.
The other Judges of the High Court are Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Justice Sanjay Dhar, Justice Puneet Gupta, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Mohan Lal and Justice Mohammad Akram Choudhary. With the appointment of Bharti and Moksha as additional judges of J&K High Court, the strength of sitting judges J&K High Court goes to 15.
Rahul Bharti son of Late Kailash Nath Sharma born on July 31, 1967, did his B.Sc., from GGM Science College Jammu, LL.B from Himachal Pradesh University, HPU Summer Hills, Shimla. He joined the Bar in February 1991 and has more than twenty eight years of experience at the Bar having conducted and conducting cases on original, civil as well as criminal side, and also on the appellate and writ jurisdiction side.
Moksha Khajuria Kazmi was born on 1st January, 1973 and started practice in Jammu wing of High Court from 1996 and Srinagar wing of High Court 1999 till date. She is presently standing counsel for Medical Council of India, J&K State Sports Council, Islamic University of Science & Technology and Myasa Network Solution.
