Jammu, Mar 26: Sulabh Shouchalaya at Rajpura Chungi on Akhnoor road is without electricity and water facility due to which people have been suffering a lot. Besides, the female sanitary worker deployed at this facility has not been paid her salary for the last two years.
While talking to Early Times, the sanitary worker Rita Devi said that she has been living in very difficult conditions due to non-payment of her two years of salary and the non availability of water and electricity at Toilet Complex. “We have been living without water and electricity for the last two years and we have asked the concerned officers, who is the incharge Sulabh Shauchalaya Complex but except assurances nothing has happened,” she said.
It has become almost difficult for us to make both ends meet without salary. Moreover the people hesitate to use this toilet complex due to lack of water. Although my husband helps me to fetch water from a long distance and we store it in a container for public use, she added.
She further said that there are huge pits around the toilet complex due to ongoing four-lane work of Akhnoor road and there are every chance of an eventuality during night hours. Just besides this complex, the deteriorated condition of Ranbir Canal has become a headache as it has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. “I am already suffering from liver infection and under treatment but due to apathy of concern, neither I am being paid my salary nor electricity and water facility has been provided,” she said. |
