Horse race turns into death race in Rajouri
One horse killed, another seriously injured

Rajouri, Apr 2 : An illegally organised horse race turned into a death race after two horses hit each other with one among the two got killed on the spot and another one got seriously injured.
As per reports, this horse race was organised near Darhali bridge area of Rajouri town in which local people of the area were participating and horse owners from different areas reached at the venue to take part in this horse race.
While horse race was organised, two racing horses powerfully hit each other with one of the horse got killed on the spot while another one got seriously injured with both the horse riders also received minor scratches on their body.
Most of the local people escaped from the spot after the incident.
Meanwhile, Compassion, an animal welfare organisation registered with Animal Welfare Board Channai has strongly condemned the event of horse racing.
“ Near sports stadium Rajouri some people organised this horse race in which more then one hundred horses were invited and in the initial race the three horses with their riders collided with the two horses from opposite side as a result of head to head crash of the animals, one horse died on spot while the other is battling for the life.” Compassion said in an official statement.
Romeez Khan from Compassion organisation said that his team swung into action and one Mr. Sajad Bhat rushed to the spot where it was found that one horse had dead and other was is in bad condition with his spinal cord is broken.
“ Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Rajouri was immediately informed who rushed his doctor for the treatment of injured horse.” the organisation informed in an official statement.
The organisation further recommended the illegal act of horse race focussing on need to check such cruel acts.
