| Mayor JMC starts development works in Shiv Nagar | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 23: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC today kick started the development works by way of laying of tiles as well as covering of drains at lane near A.G Office Lower Shiv Nagar area of Ward 33
The Mayor said that it was the long pending demand of the inhabitants of this lane which was constructed many years back and has got damaged due to which, the locals as well as passersby were facing much hardships while walking through the area. He said the work of establishing beautiful green spaces for morning/evening walkers from Kali Mata Mandir upto Pawan Ice Cream Shakti Nagar, Jammu with an allotted amount of 1.30 crores.
The Mayor also chaired a meeting of Jal Shakti Department (Urban) in presence of Raj Kumar Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee & Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC. In the meeting various issues of public importance concerning poor water supply position in Jammu city during the ongoing summer season were raised by Kumar on behalf of all the councillors of JMC. Mayor was apprised by concerned engineers of Jal Shakti Department that many initiatives have been taken to maintain regular water supply in all the wards of the city through water tankers and other sources where there is scarcity of drinking water.
Mayor asked the Commissioner JMC as well as Director Finance and CEO's of JMC & Jal Shakti Department to work with proper coordination & release the required funds for immediate repair works of PHE pumping stations, laying/ renovation of water pipes & other allied works concerning Jal Shakti Department. |
