| Mayor JMC reviews water, power facilities | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 27: With an aim to provide better supply of drinking water Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu along with Raj Kumar Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee JMC along with others & other concerned officials of Jal Shakti Department today conducted an extensive tour of Borian water filtration plant.
The Mayor issued on spot directions to the concerned engineers of the department to take all types of preventative measures on war footing in collaboration with PDD by installing dedicated electric feeders to Borian, Dhountly as well as Shetlee water filtration plant & other maintenance work on urgent basis so that potable & uninterrupted water supply may be provided to the people of Jammu during this summer season & make it sure that it will remain continue in coming days.
He said that requisite funds have already been released to the department and all the Councillors of JMC have been working tirelessly in collaboration with the department to minimize the sufferings of the people by supplying water through tankers ward wise where there is acute scarcity of water.
The mayor also met Shiv Anant Tayal Managing Director & other Officers of JPDCL (Power Development Department) & discussed the burning issues regarding ongoing power curtailment. Tayal assured that he is personally monitoring this issue and working hard to install dedicated feeders to all the water filtration plants to make proper water supply in the city and taking other foolproof & concrete measures in terms of maintenance work and other allied activities so that demand of electricity may be fulfilled in a routine manner. |
