RAJOURI, June 14: The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Units of Govt. P. G. College Rajouri in collaboration with J&K State Aids Prevention and Control Society celebrated World Blood Donors Day as part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsava here today.
On this occasion an intra-college poster making competition on the theme "Donating Blood is an Act of Solidarity organized under the patronage of the principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi and guidance of Dr. Naseem Ahmed Malik, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club and NSS Program Officer Boys Wing.
Prof. Javaid Qazi appreciated the efforts of organizers to raise awareness about the need for blood donation, the safe blood and blood Products, and to thank voluntary unpaid donors for their life saving gift of blood. There is no other gift bigger than voluntary blood donation and everyone should come forward for this noble cause, he added. Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza, Vice Principal of College also lauded this awareness creating event to save lives. The NSS volunteers whose posters declared best include Zaffer Hussain, Pankaj Kumar,Sajad Mahmood, Vahida Malik, Kirti Balla, Sonali Kumari, Veshaka Devi, Nahida Rashid and Simran.
All the participants were awarded e-certificates. Prof Supriya Gupta and Dr Naseem Ahmed NSS Programme Officers co-ordinated the event. |
