JK Bank glitches mock at Digital India, Customers seek PM Modi’s intervention!
6/14/2022 10:47:41 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 14: Even as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has been working hard to make people get benefitted out of his Digital India flagship programs aimed to transform the nation into a “digitally empowered society and knowledge economy”, the J&K Bank is allegedly doing the opposite by putting the customers to inconvenience.
The financial transactions at the bank have been badly hit due to technical faults for the last few days and this trouble reoccurs after every few weeks.
Thousands of customers have been making distress complaints against the bank that their transactions are not getting processed. The elderly, who otherwise were feeling blessed due to the Digital India services said they have to stand in unending queues to get simple payment released. And, forget making online transactions from your own computer or smartphones, even the bank branches are witnessing chaos. “I was at a branch to withdraw the cash, but the bank staff told me that the system is not working. I then tried to transfer the money from my Mpay account but that too didn’t work,” complained an elderly customer adding “I had to spend full day waiting in queue but to no avail.”
Most of the customers have to leave even the bank branch empty handed. “Modi Ji wants people to avail benefits of digital services but in Jammu and Kashmir the same has become a curse due to the faulty policies of the J&K Bank,” said a customer.
Last month also the bank customers witnessed similar inconvenience when the online services were not operating properly ahead of a Muslim festival.
A senior official told the Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the bank software and other apps were being upgraded due to which technical snags were being witnessed. “Technical upgradations lead to such glitches and our worthy customers should bear with the momentary inconvenience.”
Meanwhile most of the bank customers have appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally look into the inconvenience faced by millions of bank customers especially the elderly persons. “JK Bank is becoming anti Digital India and this is something which New Delhi needs to look into.”
