Voter list sent by JKFA; objections invited: Football Associations office bearers
6/14/2022 10:46:03 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 14: Former football players and office bearers today said that the voter list sent by the former office bearers of DFA Jammu was sent by them to JKFA and the same list was published in the local dailies by ex-treasurer of JKFA for inviting objection. The records of the Association lie with the Secretary of the District Football Association and not with Treasurer of JKFA.
Addressing a press conference it was said that on the behest of then Secretary and then President/Chairman that the records were made available to the Association as requested by the Association. Since the list was published by the ex-treasurer and that time he never raised any objection regarding the clubs which he now demands were not considered. The records reveal that all the 11 clubs mentioned by ex- treasurer of JKFA do not qualify for the voting rights and even some clubs do not exist at all.
The ex-treasurer of JKFA has signed the audit reports of JKFA which have been sent to Sports Council every year. There is no truth in the statement made by him that Jammu has been deprived financially. The grants due to the District Football Association sanctioned by the J&K Sports Council are being transferred to the respective Bank Account of the DFA’s.
Rs. 28 lakhs were spent by Ramesh Chander the then Vice President on MMS Gold Cup 2017-18 of Jammu Province. Who is now tarnishing the image of Association on finance related matters? Some of the associate members of Jammu who were a party to the Press Conference held on 10-6-2022 at Jammu & were sharing the dais are defaulters regarding some account related matters and the cases is against them are still unresolved with the Association.
As per as the selection of national teams is concerned the entire selection process is carried by the selectors from Jammu & Kashmir provinces and is being carried in a fair and a transparent manner. The selection process is not done on quota basis but purely on merit bases. It is on record that the deserving players from Jammu have always been selected by the Committee.
The ex-treasurer who has raised the question of selection process has himself recommended one of the players from Jammu who reportedly was the son of his close associates and was not selected by the selectors in last Santosh Trophy Team. Because his performance was very poor that is why the treasurer has raised an eye on the selection process and was annoyed.
