Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing organizes orientation cum fresher's meet

JAMMU, June 14: The purpose of Fresher's meet is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. To welcome the new batch of B Sc Nursing, GNM & MMPHW students, a Fresher's meet was organised by the Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing at their CAMPUS, chak Bhalwal Jammu on Tuesday, 14th June 2022.
The chief guests of this program were Dr. Sushma Mattoo BMO Sub District Hospital Kot Bhalwal Jammu, Mr MS Katoch Chairman RGCN, Mrs Rafiqa Bashir Principal RGCN, Abhimanyu Katoch MD RGCN, Mrs Anjana Bavouria Director RGCN, &Mrs Heena Katoch as Special guest.
Students of First Year (Batch 2020 & 2021) GNM, MPHW & B.Sc. Nursing, students were welcomed with great hospitality by Student's of B.Sc & GNM 3rd Year in the Multi-purpose Hall of College. The program started with lamp lightening and Ganesh Vandana Dance.
Freshers along with their seniors got chance to showcase their talent by a stunning Ramp walk & various Dance performances like Punjabi & Rajasthani dances, games were also organized to make the function more interesting and fun loving. The audiences enjoyed the fashion show and they encouraged the participants by making hooding sounds. There was a tough competition among the fresher's as they all were amazing. Finally, after various Mr & Miss Fresher were declared.
From BSC Nursing, Mr. Basit & Miss Suhani Sharma of batch 2020, Mr Manik & Miss Sonal Rajput of Batch 2021 were declared as Mr. and Miss Fresher respectively.
From Paramedical Mr. Rohit & Miss Akanksha Langeh of batch 2021 were declared as Mr. and Miss Fresher respectively.
Dr. Sushma Mattoo BMO Sub District Hospital Kot Bhalwal Jammu encouraged the staff as well as students of this college. She said nursing is a noble profession & encouraged students by saying importance of this profession. She further said nurses are backbone of our health sector who works day and night for the common people.
Chairman RGCN Jammu Mr MS Katoch encouraged the staff and students for organising such events. He advised Students for their commitment and providing quality services to patients, emphasizing that their profession is a noble one which society looks up to.
Director RGCN Mrs Anjana Bavouria was present on this occasion and she motivated the students to take this profession with utmost dedication and sincerity. She mentioned that nursing profession requires utmost commitment and dedication to become efficient and competent nurse.
