JAMMU, June 7: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday posted Additional Director General of Police Dr. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal as police chief of the Union Territory of Ladakh. Quoting an order, that Jamwal has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh UT. “With the approval of the competent authority, Dr. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, IPS (AGMUT: 1995), Additional Director General of Police, is transferred from Jammu & Kashmir and appointed as Head of Police, UT of Ladakh with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and until further orders,” read the order. Dynamic police officer known for his integrity and honesty, Dr. SD Singh Jamwal earlier served as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Jammu. Dr. Singh is an IPS Officer of the 1995 Batch J&K Cadre. Prior to his posting as Chief of Ladakh Police, Dr Singh served in various capacities as IGP Jammu Zone, SDPO Kothibagh, Addl SP Doda, SP Leh, SP Kupwara, SSP Traffic, Jammu, SSP Poonch, SSP Vigilance, SSP Jammu, SSP SSG J&K, DIG Rajouri -Poonch Range, DIG, SKPA Udhampur and after that proceeded on deputation to Central Government in Intelligence Bureau and later in Ministry of External Affairs as Counsellor in High Commission of Indian in Colombo, Sri Lanka for the past 6 years. He is known for his investigation skill. |
