Mendhar: Woman left to die on road as hospital fails to send ambulance | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, June 7: In a glaring instance of carelessness on part of the hospital authorities, a woman was left to die on the road in Mendhar bazaar in this frontier district on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses said that a woman became unconscious in the Mendhar market this morning. “Local shopkeepers immediately called the Mendhar hospital and requested an on duty official to send an ambulance,” witnesses added. They said that the ambulance didn’t arrive and after waiting for nearly an hour, local shopkeepers moved the woman to the hospital. “Despite our repeated calls the hospital authorities didn’t send the ambulance,” locals said. They said, “Had we not rushed the woman to the hospital, she could have died. She is undergoing treatment at Mendhar hospital.” |
