JAMMU, May 15: In the wake of recent border disturbances, Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), convened a high-level meeting with all statutory officers of the university to assess the overall functioning of the institution.
At the outset, the Vice Chancellor, along with senior officials, expressed deep appreciation for the valiant efforts of the Indian Armed Forces in defending the nation's sovereignty. He lauded the courage and unwavering commitment displayed by the forces during recent enemy aggression along the borders.
The meeting focused on a comprehensive review of academic, research, and administrative activities, with particular attention to disruptions caused by the prevailing situation. The Vice Chancellor also assessed the progress of key initiatives such as the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
Prof. Tripathi emphasized the urgent need for a roadmap to ensure academic continuity, enhance research activities, strengthen campus safety, and bolster digital learning. Expressing concern over the academic setbacks faced by students, he instructed Deans, Directors, and faculty members to develop a revised schedule, including extra classroom hours and remedial sessions, to compensate for the lost academic time.
In a proactive measure to ensure campus security, he ordered the immediate issuance of identity cards to all students, facilitating secure and organized access to university facilities. He also addressed the risk of fire outbreaks due to soaring temperatures, directing the Security and Labour Incharges to remain vigilant, especially around university fields.
During the meeting, the functionality of the university's e-Studio was also reviewed. Prof. Tripathi directed the Director Extension to keep the facility fully operational to support digital content creation and virtual outreach programs.
Concluding the session, the Vice Chancellor called for enhanced coordination, vigilance, and commitment from all departments to uphold the academic integrity and institutional resilience of SKUAST-Jammu.
