From Srinagar, Defence Minister warns Pak: Stop supporting terrorism or face consequences | Operation Sindoor | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Indian Air Force’s Adampur airbase, exposing Pakistan’s continued deceit, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a strong and direct warning to Pakistan from Srinagar’s Badami Bagh Cantonment. Addressing troops at the strategic military base, Singh denounced Pakistan’s repeated nuclear threats and made it clear that India would not be intimidated by what he called a “rogue nation.” He reiterated India's unwavering resolve to crush terrorism at its roots. Referring to Operation Sindoor, Singh called it India’s most significant counter-terrorism action to date. “It was a dream of every soldier to hunt down every terrorist in their hideouts. Terrorists killed our people because of their faith; we eliminated them because of their crimes. It was our dharma to act, and our forces fulfilled that duty with unmatched courage and precision,” he said. He added that Operation Sindoor sent a strong signal to Pakistan-based terror groups and their handlers: “They are not safe anywhere. Our forces strike with pinpoint accuracy—the counting is left to the enemy.” Speaking about the persistent cross-border threat, Singh said: “For the past 35–40 years, India has endured terrorism originating from across the border. Today, the entire world knows we are prepared to go to any length to end this menace.” He lambasted Pakistan, labeling it a “factory of terrorism”, and questioned the safety of its nuclear arsenal. “From the soil of Srinagar, I ask the world: Are nuclear weapons safe in the hands of such an irresponsible nation? I believe Pakistan’s nuclear weapons must come under the supervision of the IAEA,” he asserted. Singh referred to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam as an assault on the soul of India. “They struck our forehead; we responded by striking their chest. The only way Pakistan can heal is by ending its support to anti-India terror groups and ensuring its soil is not used against us.” Recalling a broken promise made by Pakistan decades ago, Singh said, “Twenty-one years ago in Islamabad, Pakistan vowed in the presence of Atal Ji that it would not allow its soil to be used for terrorism. That promise was a deception then—and it continues to deceive today. And now, Pakistan is paying the price. If terrorism continues, the cost will only rise.” He credited Prime Minister Modi for reshaping India’s counter-terror doctrine. “Our Prime Minister has made it clear: any terror attack on Indian soil will be treated as an act of war. Terrorism and dialogue cannot go together. If there is to be any talk, it will be on terrorism and the liberation of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).” Concluding his address, Singh emphasized that India’s armed forces are no longer reactive but proactive in their pursuit of security. “Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail no longer works. The world has seen its recklessness. India, on the other hand, has shown resolve, maturity, and strength. Our enemies are now on our radar—and our aim is unerring.” |
