Early Times Report JAMMU, May 15: In the wake of heightened tensions along the border and the subsequent displacement of residents, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu and Kashmir, has launched a timely humanitarian response, dispatching essential relief material to the affected populations in district Poonch. As many border dwellers have been relocated to safer locations, IRCS J&K swiftly mobilized resources to ensure that immediate relief reaches those in need. The relief consignment comprises a wide array of critical supplies including blankets, Sleepwell mattresses, foam mattresses, kitchen sets, tarpaulins, cotton gaddas, bed sheets, durries, dhotis, sleeping mats, and other vital items. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary of IRCS, J&K, emphasized the organization's commitment to humanitarian service, stating: "In this hour of need, it is our duty to stand with the people of Poonch. Our teams are working tirelessly to provide timely relief and support to those affected. We are committed to continuing our humanitarian assistance as the situation evolves." To facilitate efficient distribution, the Indian Red Cross Society has also deployed volunteers and field personnel in close coordination with the local administration. These teams are not only distributing aid but are also conducting on-ground assessments to identify further needs and ensure no vulnerable community is left unattended. The Society has made an earnest appeal to the public, corporate entities, and all stakeholders to extend their continued cooperation and support in its ongoing relief efforts.
