Govt orders probe into PMGSY road project irregularities in Poonch

Jammu, June 20: The government has initiated a formal investigation into alleged irregularities in several Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road projects in Poonch district, following a complaint highlighting non-compliance with Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and violations of PMGSY guidelines.
The probe targets four road projects: Bonikhet to Chanasar (Package No. JK11-69), Chandimarh to Dogrian (Package No. JK11-44), Sailan to Mahara (Package No. JK-138), and the 7th kilometre stretch of 701 to Behramgalla (Package No. JK-161). These projects, aimed at enhancing rural connectivity, are under scrutiny for alleged deviations from approved specifications and government norms.

Under Rule 33 of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, the inquiry will examine the allegations thoroughly, with a 30-day deadline for submitting a detailed report. The process will ensure procedural fairness, allowing the accused engineers to present their case, and may include stakeholder statements to establish facts.
