SSP Doda addressed press conference on Dangal Scheduled for Feb 17, at GDC Doda

DODA, Feb 14: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, today addressed a press conference at the District Police Office (DPO) Doda and briefed media persons about the upcoming Dangal (Wrestling competition) under Civic Action Programme (CAP), scheduled to be held on February 17, 2026, at Government Degree College (GDC) Doda.
During the briefing, SSP Doda stated that the Dangal is being organised to promote sports culture, revive traditional games, encourage youth participation, and foster physical fitness and discipline among youngsters. The event aims to provide a healthy and competitive platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and strengthen community bonding through sports. Wrestlers from District Doda and across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir will participate in the competition.
He further emphasized that adequate security and traffic arrangements will be put in place to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the event. Doda Police, in coordination with the civil administration and college authorities, will ensure proper crowd management, safety, and seamless conduct of the programme.
SSP Doda appealed to sports lovers, youth, and the general public to participate in large numbers and make the event a grand success.
