Anantnag, Feb 14: Continuing its intensified crackdown against narcotics, Anantnag Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband from his possession during routine patrolling.
In a statement, In its continued drive against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police achieved a significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering contraband substance from his possession.
A police party from Police Post Sangam, during routine patrolling duty at Doonipora near Weeta College, intercepted a suspicious individual. Upon search, the accused was found in possession of approximately 5.66 kilograms of Ganja like substance.
The accused has been identified as Sahil Fayaz Dar, son of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, resident of KV Pora Marhama.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 28/2026 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bejbehara, and investigation has been taken up, it reads.
Anantnag Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug trafficking.
