Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 14: Dogra Hr Sec School vibrated with devotion and festivity as students and staff came together to celebrated the sacred festival of Maha Shivratri with great enthusiasm. The event aimed to instill spiritual values and educate students about the significance of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology.
The programme began with graceful anchoring by Shaziya (Class 8) and Samridhi (Class 7), who conducted the proceedings with confidence and poise. This was followed by the Shiv Pooja performed by the Principal, HM Sir, and staff members, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere.
Adding colour and energy to the celebration, Khushi of Class 7th and Arshita of class 8th presented a captivating dance performance.
The spiritual mood was further enriched by a soulful group bhajan rendered by the boys of Classes 7th and 8th, which received warm appreciation from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal Major Bhawna Devi, Retd explained that Maha Shivratri teaches students to adopt Saiyam (self-discipline), Dhairya (patience), and Gyan Arjit (the pursuit of knowledge). She encouraged the students to embrace the virtues of Lord Shiva-wisdom, patience, and resilience-and to apply these values in their daily lives for personal growth and character building.
She also extended the greeting on behalf of Management.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Shaziya expressing gratitude to the participants, organisers and attendees for making the event a grand success.
