Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 24: Governor Satya Pal Malik might be pained over the militant killings but around 130 civilians and security forces were killed by militants in the previous year. The Governor on Thursday said that government was making efforts for return of youth, who have joined the militancy. "I think militancy is not in guns but in brains. We are trying to remove the militancy that is hitting the brains. I am pained over militant killings," he told the media. At the same time, around 130 civilian and security forces were killed by militants in 2018. As per the figures, JK Police lost 45 personnel, nine CRPF men, 30 army soldiers in the previous years. Similarly, the militants killed 44 civilians. These killings have taken place either after kidnapping of civilians or ambush laid by the militants. There has also been radicalization of many youth in Kashmir and have inclined towards ISIS ideology. Despite that Governor on Thursday expressed concern over the militant killings.
