TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Reminiscent of Bakshi regime, SFC's Chowkidar becomes PA to GM JKSRTC
Minister sahib ki meharbani!
11/25/2018 1:45:37 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: The state leadership of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) claims that after ruling three years, not a single leader indulged in corruption but the claims stand busted when the news of a SFC chowkidar becoming PA to General Manager JKSRTC came to fore. Sources in SRTC said the former Minister of Transport , got a platoon of officers from his own constituency and minted money by issuing illegal, irrelevant and vague orders. Accusing the minister of taking the JKSRTC to death bed, the sources said a chowkidar in SFC and managed his posting on deputation to Corporation. "The employee is illegally promoted as PA without having any right to be promoted in the department, illegally and does not fall in the seniority of JKSRTC and above all has forged service book records.", sources said, adding that the employee posted as depot in-charge Pathankote a few days before the transfer of a KAS officer hailing from Kishtwar, was brought in JKSRTC by Minister for this vested interest and given a departmental promotion. Sources further said that not only this ...

Party covertly achieved its objective by making Governor to dissolve LA
C's great game left PDP bewildered
11/25/2018 1:44:59 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: As the Governor dissolved the assembly amid chaos created by NC, PDP and Congress in the state, there are speculations that national conference played its cards well forcing the Governor to dissolve the legislative assembly. NC was already pitching for dissolution of the state legislature with its several leaders appealing Governor not to keep the 87 member house in limbo any longer. However, as there wasn't any response to NC pleas, the party probably decided to hatch a plan that could compel Raj Bhavan to pay heed to party's pleas. As on November 21, the PDP claimed that it with the support of Congress and NC is going to form the government, none o...

MLC Reshi's tweet leaves Mehbooba red-faced
Nobody intimidated me, don't use my name'
11/25/2018 1:43:59 AM
Early Times Report srinagar, Nov 24: Even as former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti had accused the Bharatiya Janta Party of resorting to coercion and using NIA to intimidate her party members to break away, her own PDP member has publicly refuted her claims. In an interview to a New Delhi based daily Mehbooba had said that BJP has used every possible means to coerce and intimidate legislators so that they leave the party. Without naming 'senior BJP leader', she said, he would travel to Srinagar every fortnight and summon our MLAs and MLCs. "Why? They told our Wachi MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir that he has only two options: either leave PDP, join them and be ...

Grand alliance that really didn't exist
11/25/2018 1:43:32 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: Just on November 21, Mehbooba Mufti, owner of PDP, announced formation of what she called "Grand Alliance" to form coalition government in the state. According to her, Farooq Abdullah/Omar Abdullah, proprietors of NC, and Congress of Rahul Gandhi were two other parts of the Grand Alliance. According to power-sharing formula reached between the three Kashmir-based outfits, PDP was to lead the government with the Congress becoming its part and the NC supporting the coalition government from outside. The self-proclaimed Grand Alliance leader Mehbooba Mufti did all that she could to stake the claim for government formation, but failed as, according to her, f...

Dumps pro 'self-rule' Mehbooba, embraces pro 'special status' Sajjad
BJP in suicide mode
11/25/2018 1:42:38 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: BJP is in a suicide mode. It doesn't know what it is doing and it also doesn't know that its political conduct, appeasement policy and Kashmir-centric approach are alienating both Jammu and Ladakh which changed its political fortunes in 2014. Ladakh has already shown BJP its place by rejecting it outrightly in the ULB elections. It had not won even one out of 26 wards in Ladakh. It was the Congress, which turned tables on it. The lone MP from Ladakh, Thupstan Cheewang, had also resigned both from the BJP and the Lok Sabha and his resignation letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah said that he took this step because ...
