TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Azad following footsteps of Capt Amarinder Singh?
His loyalists stay away from ongoing party’s membership drive
11/26/2021 11:01:53 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 26: On Wednesday with much “fanfare’ the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) launched a membership drive in Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the party. The membership drive will be followed by organizational elections. Interestingly the membership drive was launched by PCC chief G A Mir along with leaders of his faction and those who owe their allegiance with Ghulam Nabi Azad were conspicuously absent from the event. The non-involvement of Azad loyalists in the membership drive raised many questions because this action will give a free hand to Mir to take full control of the party and install all his loyalists on all important positions of the party. The decision of the Azad loyalists not to participate in the membership drive has added fuel to the rumours that the former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha is going to follow the foot-step of ex-Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. After being “humiliated” by Congress high command, the political stalwart of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh had resigned from the party and announced the fo...

Constitution Day: Dynastic parties are matter of concern to people committed to Constitution, says PM Modi
11/26/2021 11:00:54 PM
Agencies New Delhi, Nov 26: Tearing into the Opposition parties that boycotted the Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said “family-run parties” that have lost democratic qualities themselves cannot be expected to defend the country’s democracy. Speaking at the event, Modi asserted that the country is “not ready” to listen to those who “question” the need to earmark a day to celebrate the adoption of the Constitution which has the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar attached to it. “When a political party loses its own democratic character, how can it protect democracy? Today, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, look at every corner of India, the countr...
