Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Startling revelations about how discrimination in healthcare too is meted out to Jammu region have come to the fore, puncturing claims of the authorities about no step-motherly treatment with any region of the state. As per official documents in possession of the Early Times, health institutes under the administrative control of Government Medical College of Srinagar are 37 in number. On the contrary, there are mere five major health institutes functional in Jammu. They include GMC, Jammu, SMGS Hospital, CD Hospital Jammu, Super Speciality Hospital and Puy Disease Hospital Jammu. As far as GMC Srinagar is concerned, there are more than 37 health institutes under its administrative control. Such figures have once again unravelled the mystery about how dreadful and serious has the discrimination become with the Jammu region of the state. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 7: The Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) has virtually become a rehabilitation centre for retired officials, in contravention to the standing instructions from the government. Sources told Early Times that some officials were re-engaged by the authorities within a week of their retirement. This means that these officials hardly passed a day at home before being re-engaged. "At least two officials who retired on April 30 were re-engaged by the authorities at IASE. This nursing home was established in the name of Father of Indian Pharmacology and first scientist from Jammu, Col. R. N.
