Early Times Report Rajouri, May 4: Public Health Department Nowshera has allegedly embezzled Rs 1.18 crore of a Water Supply Scheme (WSS) under the nomenclature of Amb Khori to Kharota near LoC due to which the scheme could not be completed even after the lapse of 18 years. Sources told Early Times that a Water Supply School for the village of Amb Khori of Panchayat Upper Kangri of tehsil Sunderbani in district Rajouri was sanctioned way back in 2001 at the cost of Rs 1.18 crore for providing portable water supply to the local villagers. "As per scheme the water pumping station was to be set up for further supply to the village, which is situated near the Line of Control (LoC) but on the contrary in the name of scheme only a room structure measuring 10x10 was constructed wherein pumping motors were to be fitted and apart from this a water well for water source was to be dug along with a storage tank which was actually not done," they said further adding that with the apathetic attitude of the PHE department, the villagers have to cover 10 kms of long distance to fetch water to mee...
