Single MS ‘spoils broth’ in two Jammu hospitals | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 30: The patient care in Chest Diseases Hospital and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital remains affect ted for want of medical superintendent (MS).
Presently, according to sources, only one MS is catering to the needs of both the hospitals (though unsuccessfully). The authorities have so far failed to find a way out, sources said.
Pertinent to mention, that after the transfer of MS Dr Dara Singh of SMGS hospital to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, the state Health Ministry had issued an order on November 19, 2018, and appointed Dr Manoj Kumar Chalotra as MS of SMGS hospital and also given an additional charge of CD hospital to him.
"This arrangement has affected working in the CD Hospital for the past five months," an official told Early Times.
He said the head of any institute has to take round of the hospital to review the works and affairs but nothing of that sort has been happening. In addition other affairs are getting affected.

JAMMU, Apr 30: Just 10 percent voter turnout in four assembly constituencies of south Kashmir's Kulgam district in the second leg of three phased polls in Anantnag parliamentary constituency has reportedly sent alarm bells ringing within the Peoples Democratic Party camp.
Sources told Early Times that party workers have informed the PDP president and party's candidate, Mehbooba Mufti, that very low voting was recorded in the areas where people in large numbers used to vote for the PDP. "People not voting for the PDP in Kulgam district means that the PDP president is on a very weak wicket," sources added.
