Early Times Report Jammu, July 14: Although Congress high command is thinking about appointing Ghulam Nabi Azad as president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief to end infighting in the J&K unit of the party, the former Chief Minister is giving the excuse of health to shoulder this responsibility. “Instead of accepting the challenge and taking up the responsibility of ensuring the victory of party in the coming assembly elections in J&K, Azad is giving the excuse of his age and health to shoulder the responsibility”, a senior Congress leader told The Early Times. Early Times Report Srinagar, July 14: Amarnath Yatra was suspended temporarily from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes on Thursday as a precautionary measure due to inclement weather, officials said. They said no fresh batch of yatries was allowed to proceed from the traditional Nunwan Pahalgam base camp and shortest Baltal via Dumail today due to inclement weather conditions. “It was still raining at Pahalgam and Baltal route”, they said and added “as the weather shows improvement the decision to restore the yatra would accordingly be taken up”. Early Times Report Srinagar, July 14: Five women were among the 37 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, who got injured in a road accident at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday, officials said here. They said a bus carrying Amarnath devotees from Jammu met with an accident near Badragund area of Qazigund in south Kashmir's Kulgam district, injuring at least 37 yatris. Early Times Report Srinagar, July 14: A Jammu and Kashmir police personnel was killed and his pillion rider was injured in a road accident in Anantnag district on Thursday, sources said. The two off-duty men were on their way home on a motorcycle were hit by a vehicle near the Zirpora area of Bijbehara. The source said both were shifted to a nearby hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries.
