Early Times Report Jammu, July 29: More skeletons are tumbling out of closet after an FIR was registered against Under Secretary of Legislative Assembly for duping people of lakhs of rupees in the grab of providing government jobs. Now, a case of cheating a couple from Udhampur of lakh of rupees has come into light. As per documents in possession of Early Times, the tainted official had cheated the couple from Udhampur of Rs 4 lakhs by promising them of providing government job in 2013. "After feeling cheated, the couple had lodged a written complaint with the then Secretary LA and demanded action against the official. But no action was taken against him because of his close links to some political leaders and senior officials," sources said. They said later a compromise was made between the couple and the tainted official. Consequently, of the Rs 4 lakhs, Rs 2 lakhs were returned to the couple by the official and he assured them that one of them will be given job in lieu of the remaining Rs 2 lakhs.
