Centre keen to hold assembly polls in J&K to counter Pak’s vicious propaganda

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11: Although the Delimitation Commission has yet not submitted its preliminary report, the central leadership of BJP has reportedly directed the J&K unit to start preparations for the assembly elections. Wishing anonymity, a senior BJP leader told The Early Times that the Union Government has decided to conduct Assembly elections in J&K as early as possible. “Although there is uncertainty about granting statehood to J&K, the Union Government is ready to hold Assembly elections in the Union Territory to establish a democratically elected government to give a message to the whole world”, he said and added that the second phase of Public Out-reach programme is aimed at strengthening the party’s base in J&K. “World scenario is changing especially after Taliban has taken over Afghanistan. Union Government is in a hurry to install a the democratically elected government in J&K to counter Pakistan’s vicious propaganda on internal forums”, he said and added that message has already been convened to J&K unit to start preparations for Assembly elections. COVID-19: JK reports 146 new cases, no death

Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 11: The Government on Saturday informed that 146 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 25 from Jammu division and 121 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 326799. Moreover, 138 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 27 from Jammu Division and 111 from Kashmir Division. Besides this, 72.92 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir. 2 minors among 4 killed after car falls into canal

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11: Two minors among four of a family were killed and as many rescued when a car they were travelling in plunged into a canal in Miran Sahib area here in the city outskirts. Police here on Saturday said that during midnight, one car (JK02AC-7169) driven by Ganesh Kumar, resident of Bahadurpur Arnia. The car was ferrying eight passengers and was on its way from Satwari towards Bahadurpur, Arnia.
