Jammu, Apr 1: The tall claims made by both the former power ministers, Omar Abdullah in Congress-NC coalition and Dr Nirmal Singh in PDP-BJP coalition, to bring PDD back on rails have failed as is reflected by growing number of defaulters.
As per an RTI response furnished by department recently, in Sub Division-1 of Parade of Power Development Department, there are 367 defaulters having power dues/ arrears in worth of Crores which has been not paid to department since 2010. Out of these 33 defaulters having pending dues more than one lakh with worth of 70 lakhs, whereas 75 defaulters have more than 50,000 pending power dues since many years.
The 33 defaulters are as M/s Vinod Bros Metal Agencies Raghunath Bazar owes Rs. 1.54 Lakhs, Supriya Rajpal wife of Pardeep Rajpal resident of Kanji House owes Rs.1.04 Lakhs, Shanker Dass son of Kirpa Ram resident of Jogi Gate having dues of Rs. 2.14 Lakhs, Shiv Nand son of Tara Chand resident of Resham Ghar owes Rs. 2.03 Lakhs, Om Parkash son of Balak Ram owner of Tea Stall Opposite Bus Stand owes Rs. 1.02 Lakhs, Gold One Enterprises Shallamar Road owes Rs.1.14 Lakhs, Jagdev Singh son of Ranjeet Singh Petrol Pump B.C Road Rs. 1.22 Lakhs.
Others include M/S Prithvi Raj Rajinder Bazar owes Rs. 4.49 Lakhs, Som Nath son of Garib Dass resident of VN Chowk Jammu owes 1.41 Lakhs, Sadiq Massi son of Pran Ditta resident of Prem Nagar owes 1.73 Lakhs, Sunita wife of late Mohan Lal Kha Christian Colony owes Rs. 1.75 Lakhs, Robbat Massi son of Dina, Christian Colony 1.03 Lakhs, Munshe son of Kailash Sharma Exhibition ground owes Rs. 1.85 Lakhs.
Moreover, Ram Pyari wife of Om Parkash Jogi Gate owes Rs. 1.04 Lakhs, Shankar Dass son of Roshan Lal, Dalpatian mohallah, 1.08 Lakhs, M/S Amar Nath and sons, Moti Bazar owes Rs. 1.17 Lakhs, Kasturi Lal son of Brij Lal Talab Khatikan owes Rs. 1.47 Lakhs, Fez son of Mangtu resident of Prem Nagar Jammu 1.05 Lakhs, Kartar Singh resident of Jogi Gate owes Rs. 2.12 Lakhs, Darshana Devi wife of Girdari Lal Prem Nagar owes 1.42 Lakhs, Mohammad Sharif son of Ramzan Prem Nagar owes Rs. 1.26 Lakhs.
