SVO likely to probe GMC's 100 Cr ‘scam’
Blacklisted pharma companies allotted tenders

Jammu, Nov 29: A 100 Cr `scam' in Government Medical College and the hospital associated to it here has come to fore. A complaint has been lodged with the State Vigilance Organization (SVO).
The complaint has been filed by Som Nath Dabgotra alleging grant of tenders to blacklisted pharma co-mpanies by the Health and Medical Educa-tion Department.
The companies have been blacklisted by Maharashtra Food and Drug Adminis-tration, Central Medical Store organizations, And-hra Pradesh Medical Servi-ce Infrastructure Develop-ment Corporation. Firms like M/S Ind Swift Limited Chandigarh, M/S Parental Drugs Limited Indore, M/S Quality Pharmaceutical Private Limited Amritsar, M/S Modern Laboratory Indore and M/S Indo lab Madhya Pradesh are debarred in so many states.
M/S Ind Swift limited Chandigarh has been debarred by Rajasthan Medical Services, M/S Kwality Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd and M/S Modern Laboratory Indore and Daffodils Pharmaceuticals Merrut are debarred by Rajasthan Medical Service Corporation for admitting forged Certificates.
M/S Jackson Laboratories Pvt ltd. Amritsar was debarred by Central Medical Stores Organization, Gandhi Nagar Jammu S.D.I Branch for the period from 17/1/2008 to 16/1/2013 for multiple reasons. M/S Parental Drugs (India) Ltd Indore was debarred by Central Medical Stores Organization, Gandhi Nagar Jammu S.D.I Branch for the period from 25/8/2010 to 24/8/2012 for content of Ciprofloxacin in their
medicines. It is further alleged that the tender was issued by Purchase Committee No. 2 (Rate Contract Committee) Health and Medical Education Department Government Medical College Jammu to 1) M/S Kwality
Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd on 16.6.2012 and 28.6.2012 2) M/S Ind- Swift Limited on 16.6.2012. 3) Parental Drugs (India) Ltd. on 16.6.2012 and 28.6.2012.
Dabgotra lodged complaint based on a RTI application. He sought names and details of companies that supply medicines and equipment to the concerned department. The application was filed on October 9 to P.I.O GMCH and Associated Hospitals.
In the reply of the RTI it was found that the companies/firms that are debarred/ blacklisted are supplying in Health and Medical Education Department. M/S Daffodils Pharmaceuticals Merrut, M/S Ind Swift Limited Chandigarh, M/S Jackson Laboratories, M/S Kwality Pharmaceuticals and M/S Parental Drug are giving supply to Health and Medical Education Department when they are debarred.
