Sakina addresses huge public gathering in Khaloora-Noorabad area

KULGAM: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings, Ms Sakina Itoo on Saturday visited Khaloora in Noorabad area and took stock of various developmental activities and grievances of the people.
Addressing a huge gathering of people on the occasion, the Minister said that the present Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the past four and half years has tried its best to address the problems of the people, particularly of those living in far-flung ,hilly and remote areas. She said, the Government has already taken up a number of steps under a strategic approach and comprehensive plan to strengthen the basic facilities to the people.
Maintaining that the Government focused on certain vital areas which included, drinking water, power supply, education, health and road sectors which are the basic needs of the people. She said a massive development has been registered in these sectors and change is visible on ground and people themselves have acknowledged the same. She said that government has been making all out efforts to provide transparent and accountable administration to the people and various landmark decisions in this direction have been taken by the present regime. She asked the people for strengthening the hands of Mr Omar Abdullah, to redress their grievances.
Referring to the demands of the people, the Minister assured Government will examine their demands on priority and all genuine issues will be addressed appropriately. In some cases she issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for addressing the problems immediately.
Regarding the urgent demand of setting up a water supply scheme at the village, the Minister asked the concerned engineers to prepare a detailed project which would be taken up on priority. She also issued necessary instructions to the concerned engineers to formulate a comprehensive proposal for strengthening the power infrastructure in the area to provide better electricity facilities to the locals.
The sectoral officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
