32 bovine animals rescued in Jammu, Samba

JAMMU/SAMBA, Apr 20: At least thirty two bovine animals were rescued by police in twin districts of Jammu and Samba here today.
According to reports, P/S Trikuta Nagar laid a naka at Rajiv Nagar and intercepted one Tata Mobile Tempo bearing registration No JMU AS-6263.
During the search of vehicle, Police party recovered 5 bovine animals which were illegally transported from Jammu to Udhampur and the driver of the said vehicle fled away from the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 79/14 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act has been registered and investigation of the case is going on.
Another smuggling of bovine animals was foiled when P/S Nagrota (PP Sidhra ) Police, laid a surprised naka at Tawi Bridge Sidhra. According to a report based on reliable inputs, Police party of PP Sidhra intercepted 1 pedestrian who was carrying these bovine animals from Tawi to Nagrota by road. The accused was identified as Mehandia R/o Poni Chack. In this regard a case FIR No. 117/14 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered and investigation of the case is going on. Meanwhile, district Police Samba under the supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Samba launched drives against menace of illegal trafficking of bovine smuggling and rescued bovine animals. As per handout , Police team headed by Sub-Inspector Ajay Singh, SHO P/S Vijaypur on a specific tiff-off intercepted a truck without number at Jakh but on seeing the police party, the truck driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle. On search of the vehicle, it was found loaded with 15 bovine animals which were being transported illegally towards Jammu. The vehicle was seized and a Case FIR No. 51/2014 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 Cruelty towards Animal Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started. In another instance Police Team of P/S Vijaypur intercepted one Mashkoor Ahmed S/O Altaf Din R/O Tekri Pathshala, Kishtwar at Main Chowk Vijaypur who was carrying 5 bovine animals on foot illegally. Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 52/2014 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
Again a Mahindra Load carrier bearing registration No. JK02AQ-3421 was intercepted by a Police Team of P/S Vijaypur at Ramgarh Road, Vijaypur but on seeing the police party, the truck driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle which was found loaded with 06 bovine animals and were being transported illegally. The vehicle was seized and a Case FIR No. 50/2014 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 Cruelty towards Animal Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
