| Geelani's statement draws a hornet's nest | | He is beating about the bush: KPs | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 20: The hardliner Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's statement has drawn a hornet's nest with BJP as well as Kashmiri Pandits out rightly rejecting the statement as baseless.
Taking serious exception to the statement, Kashmiri Pandit organisations accused the Hurriyat hardliner of trying to defame BJP and create hurdles in its march to capture power at Delhi. The KPs are apprehensive that Hurriyat leader's statement is outcome of a big conspiracy hatched either by certain vested elements who are making last minute bid to stop BJP to come to power at Centre or at behest of Pakistan which has launched a tirade against Narendera Modi and BJP.
The KP organisations while commenting on the statement asked Mr Geelani to name the two emissaries of Modi who had met him with a proposal from BJP leader instead of beating about the bush.
They said his statement is bereft of facts and same was denied by BJP also. Moreover what was the fun for BJP leader to send emissaries to Mr Geelani when the elections are still in process and results will be declared after a month. Till May 17 the day of election results it is immaterial for BJP leader to have any kind of dialogue with any separatist leader on Kashmir issue to settle the same under the very framework of Indian Constitution.
Modi can only declare any formula on Kashmir after his party gets the majority in the Lok Sabha elections and he becomes the Prime Minister of the country. Otherwise sending emissaries to Hurriyat leader will be of no fun. The statement made by Mr Geelani is totally a fabricated story to create a wedge between Pandits and BJP as well as defame BJP which is all set to get majority in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Kashmiri Pandits have asked Mr Geelani to reveal the names of KPs who introduced themselves as emissaries of Mr Modi. Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) president Rakesh Kaul while commenting on the statement said this is nothing but a concocted story by Mr Geelani given on the behest of his bosses across the border.
He said Geelani was responsible for putting the Kashmir on fire and 25 year turmoil in the State that has led to many problems to the people and led to killing of thousands of people besides making lakhs of others shelter less and forcing them to migrate to other parts of country.
Geelani has been rejected by Kashmiri people and to remain in news and have one-upmanship over other separatist organisations including the moderate Hurriyat group, Geelani made this statement deliberately, said Kundan Kashmiri , president Kashmiri Pandit Conference KSD). He said if Geelani has guts he should name the two emissaries of Modi who had come to him with proposal or otherwise restrict himself from making such statements.
Mr Kashmiri said his organisation fully backs BJP's stand on Article 370 which is the mother of all crisis in J&K and its abrogation was the only solution to the problem. He expressed the hope that BJP will take a bold stand on abrogation of the Article for the total merger of J&K with rest of country so that the no likes of Geelani can lead their ugly heads in Kashmir again and vitiate the peace in the Valley. |
