Revoke poll boycott call: Vakil to Hurriyat | 'Elections , resolving K-issue separate issues' | | Early Times Report GANDERBAL, Apr 20: Senior Vice President Pradesh Congress Committee and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed Hurriyat leaders to reconsider and revoke their poll boycott call because elections and resolving of Kashmir issue are two separate issues. He said that holding of election is inevitable for redressing the day to day grievances and difficulties of poor masses. Vakil said that propagation of the poll boycott will definitely strengthen and encourage the corrupt people at the cost of honest and dedicated one. He said poll participation prevents exploitation of masses by the people having vested interest in keeping the pot boiling here. Member AICC said whole world is witness to the fact that dialogue, unambiguously, is the only way and mode to move ahead to resolve all vexed issues. He appealed Hurriyat leaders to reconsider their poll boycott option and accept the present day ground reality, which demands their participation in dialogue and democratic process. Vakil was addressing a youth convention at District Ganderbal in Kashmir Valley. Convention was organized in support of Coalition Candidate Dr. Farooq Abdullah While highlighting the UPA's achievements in respect of Kashmir, Member AICC said, establishing permanent peace in Kashmir Valley was the prime objective of the UPA Government which is evident from initiating of multiple CBMs to infuse confidence amongst the masses in J&K. Describing youth as future of the nation, Former Minister said state has pinned hopes on its younger generation and they are set to play a bigger role in the process of nation building. He said youth are strength of the nation and should come together and join hands to become stakeholders in the decision making process. He urged youth to come forward and play a proactive role in serving society and cautioned them of those politicians who exploit every individual particularly youth for petty political gains to grab power. |
