jammu, July 16: Based on the complaints of black marketing, hoarding and profiteering, an enforcement team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department under the supervision of Director CAPD, Jammu G S Chib conducted a surprise inspection and inspected ninety establishments while realizing fine up to the tune of Rs 7.56 lakh from erring traders. The drive was conducted in district Jammu and Udhampur respectively, officials spokesperson said Director CAPD Jammu when contacted said that the drive was initiated keeping in view of ongoing holy month of Ramzan and auspicious AmarnathJiYatra. He said the joint team of CAPD and Legal Metrology conducted the market checking of essential commodities in the areas of Ware House, Railway Station, Bahu Plaza and the surrounding areas in district Jammu and inspected about seventy establishments and out of which fifteen were imposed and realized fine to the tune of Rs 30,000. In the similar drive in district Udhampur, the team inspected establishments in Chenani, Ramnagar and Udhampur town and realized Rs 7.26 lakh from the violators. Giving a break off, spokesperson said that the team realized Rs 53,700 from 30 business establishments in Udhampur, Rs 5700 was realized from 15 business establishments in Chenani, Rs 4500 realized from six business establishments in Ramnagar and Rs 8700 has been realized from 24 business establishments in Majalta. |
