Jammu, July 16: A deputation of PDP leaders headed by Bharat Chowdhary called upon Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and apprised him about the problems being faced resident of various localities of City due to water logging. According to press release, the deputation comprised of Vikram Singh, Ashok Jogi, Vijay Raina, Chaman Angral, Amit Mahajan, Surinder Kumar and meet JMC joint commissioner regarding desilting of drains in Chand Nagar, Prem Nagar, lower Peerkho, Rajinder Nagar, Kassim Nagar, Peermitha, Jain Bazzar and Bawe Wali Gali. The deputation told the Joint Commissioner that all drains and nallahs of these areas are chocked and filled with silt as well as garbage due to that when rain came the whole downtown was choked with dirty water of drains as authorities failed to clean the drains on proper time. The locals also said that drains of city was constructed 40 years back and after that not cleaned properly almost 80 per cent of drains were filled with garbage and silt due to that dirty water overflows from drain enter into the houses of local residents which causes a lot of problems. Bharat Choudary requested to commissioner to get these drains desilt well in time so that peoples didn't suffer in upcoming Monsoon season. |
