Jammu based ministers are toothless paper tigers: Harsh
8/22/2014 11:28:40 PM
Jammu, Aug 22: National Panthers Party (NPP) MLA Harsh Dev Singh has urged upon the Jammu based ministers to rise to the occasion, assert and asseverate in view of persistent and continued neglect and deprivation of Jammu region and its people by the Kashmir centric leadership at the helm of affairs.
According to press release, he said that people of Jammu were greatly aggrieved and offended with the highly parochial and biased treatment doled out to the region by present coalition in all fields and the criminal silence maintained by its representatives in the council of Ministers. He said that Jammu based Ministers were thriving on hypocritical self praise and self adulation without delivering anything practically.
He said that they were giving airy slogans and indulging in exaggerated dissonance without showing any corresponding tangible output on the ground. He said that people were wise enough to see through the game plan of these hypocritical Ministers who were trying to give deceptive slogans at the fag end of coalition rule.
Describing the Jammu based Ministers as toothless paper tigers, Harsh Dev Singh said that they stood exposed for ineffectiveness and imbecility in ensuring justice to the people of Jammu region. He said that deceptive propaganda and media slogans won't help them as there was a complete mismatch between their words and actions, rhetoric and delivery. Urging upon the Jammu Ministers to refrain from rhetorical overtures, he drew their attention towards utter neglect of Jammu region and the highly prejudicial treatment doled out to it in all sectors including employment, Devolution of funds, power sector, tourism etc which had caused lot of resentment and disenchantment amongst the general masses. Making a special mention of the Jammu based Martyrs who were victims of Pak terror, Singh said that the govt. had resorted to delay and deny and discriminatory in the matter of provision of ex-gratia to their families including rehabilitation measures. He regretted that two IRP Jawans namely constable Santosh Singh and Constable Azad Chand were killed by Pak sponsored militants in Handwara while performing their duties on 2nd March 2013 but the State govt. failed to provide any requisite ex-gratia to their distressed families till date. He said, likewise, the benefits under SRO 43 were also not provided to the families of the deceased which was most shocking and highly reprehensible. On the contrary, Singh pointed out that Haryana govt. had announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 25 lakhs in favour of next to kins of its native constables who were killed in Srinagar in the same month i.e, March 2013 in a suicide attack on CRP camp. Besides the said Haryana govt. had also provided Jobs to the dependents of its deceased soldiers without delay. Accusing the coalition govt. of double standards, Singh called upon the Jammu based Ministers to shed off their inhibitions and assert in view of growing public resentment against their inaction and their second fiddle role.
