Rajouri, Aug 22 : A man, who was on Thursday alleged to have shot dead his relative after a dispute with him over the ownership of a dhok in PirPanjal mountains of Koteranka, has been apprehended by police. A case under sections 109/302 RPC and 3/25 IAA has been registered against the accused and police have also seized the gun used in the crime and some live rounds. The matter was brought to the notice of Koteranka police by the family of the deceased, who was identified as Mohammad Maroof (22), son of Mohammad Bashir of Khadyoon, Kandi, at about 9 pm. The accused, who was identified as MuneerHussain, son of Nawab Din of Khadyoom, was arrested by a police team led by Koteranka police station SHO Haji Bashir from his hideout in the area at about 4 am today. The victim's body was also taken by police in their custody and shifted to hospital. During summers, members of both the families migrate to Dhok Bara Nala. Police said for the last few years, both the families were claiming ownership of the dhok and on Thursday, Muneer had a verbal dispute with Maroof. The verbal dispute turned into physical scuffle and in a fit of rage, Muneer shot Maroof dead. The bullet had hit Maroof in the head. After post mortem, Maroof's body was handed over to his family for last rites. |
